Aulia Kahfi is a young, driven producer from Aceh, known for his exceptional quality. In 2019, he placed 9th in the Sumatra Prestige Cup with an outstanding Wet-Hulled lot, a milestone that cemented his reputation as a specialty coffee producer.

Aulia works at Rakyat Farm, the family plot he inherited and where he has been growing coffee since his early teens. When specialty coffee wasn’t yet appreciated in his region, he briefly shifted to mining and selling Vesuvianite — a precious stone often found near volcanoes. Eventually, he returned to his true passion: coffee.

Since then, Aulia has expanded his activities. Using an old van or a friend’s car, he collects ripe cherries from farmers in Lukup Sabun, Pantan Sile, Ratawali, and more recently Gegarang. He is committed to sourcing only perfectly ripe cherries, which he then processes himself into the rich, characteristic coffees Sumatra is known for.

A body that carries the weight of the coffee very well, a lingering acidity and notes of bergamot, mandarin, milk-chocolate & red stonefruits.

We recommend this as a filter coffee.
